.::Personality::.
While he isn't the smartest Goennec,
Basil is known for his charm, strength, and bravery. He will fight to
the death without a second thought and is considerably strong. But at
times he can be a bit cocky. Basil has a softer side, but doesn't let it
show often.
.::History::.
(Written is Basil's point of view)
The
day my older brother died was probably one of my most vivid memories
ever. My brother, Klahan, had taken me with him to his post to help him
watch over the herd. My brother was the Prince of my former herd and
sometimes he would bring me along while he was on duty. Unfortunately,
we came upon a fierce mountain loin. The creature immediately lunged at
my brother with claws unsheathed. I ran towards him in a hurry to help,
but he just yelled at me.
"Basil, get away! I'm going to be fine, just hide!"
"O-okay."
I managed to stutter out. I ran behind a large boulder that was fairly
far away. It probably wasn't the best place to hide at the time, but I
wasn't thinking about that. I poked my head out from behind the grey
boulder and gasped. I saw Klahan soaked in blood. I was about to yell
out for him, but I was too afraid of the cougar. At the time, I was only
three years old, so naturally, a mountain lion would be frightening. I
painfully watched as he charged towards the mountain lion without a
second thought and the great beast brought down its powerful paw onto
Klahan's neck. His legs crumpled beneath his limp body and the wretched
puma dragged my brother away. My brother, the one I looked up to was
dead. I held back tears as I ran back to the herd to tell them that the
Prince was dead. I vowed I would grow up to be just like him. Brave,
strong, and fearless.
I left the care of my parents and the
safety of a herd early in life. Again, probably not the best idea, but I
guess I don't really think about my choices. I left with thoughts of
adventures and thrilling moments and challenges. I thought about how I
would face them without fear, without regret. Needless to say, there
were plenty of those moments in my life. And I faced them more or less
like my brother wold have.
